This easy homemade Apple Crumble is our favorite dessert of apple season! With a sweet, caramel apple filling and crumble topping, this simple, comforting dessert is sure to be a crowd pleaser! Serve warm and bubbly from the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an easy, memorable dessert!
Ingredient
Makes 6-8 servings
apple sauce
2 ½ pounds (1kg) apples, peeled and cored
1/4 cup (50g) sugar
2 tablespoons (30g) lemon juice
2 tablespoons (20g) flour
1/2 teaspoon (2g) ground cinnamon

1/2 cup (110g) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup (100g) rolled oats
1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
1/3 cup (70g) brown sugar
1 teaspoon (3g) ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon (1g) salt
2/3 cup (80g) walnuts/pecans.
Instruct
Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly spray an 8- or 9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.

In a medium bowl, mix all-purpose flour, brown sugar, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon. Whisk well to combine.

Add melted butter and stir with a fork until crumbly.

Prepare to fill
In a large bowl, combine apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch (or flour if using) and ground cinnamon.
2 ½ pounds Granny Smith apples, ½ cup granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 2 tablespoons corn starch, ½ teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Transfer apple mixture to prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer.
Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over filling.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
Let cool for 15 minutes before serving with ice cream if desired.
